SEN Teaching Assistant – Special School in Southampton
GSL Education are seeking a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding special school in Southampton, supporting children and young people aged 2 to 19 years with a wide range of needs, including Autism, Down Syndrome, physical disabilities, and complex learning difficulties.
The school is committed to providing a safe, stimulating, and fun learning environment tailored to the individual needs of each pupil. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with a highly skilled and compassionate team collaboratively to empower students to achieve their full potential.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Work closely with teaching staff and a multidisciplinary team including School Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Occupational Therapists.
- Support students both in and out of the classroom, delivering engaging and practical learning activities.
- Help to create a positive, respectful, and supportive atmosphere where every child feels valued.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students, teachers, and families to support every stage of learning and development.
- Play a key role in preparing students for the next phase of their life, whether that’s further education, training, or greater independence.
