Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Portland
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate/September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

Are you an experienced and passionate SEN teacher looking for a stable yet fulfilling role?

GSL Education are excited to be recruiting for a Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher to join an outstanding school in Portland.

In this job, you will help students who need extra support with their learning. You will make simple learning plans for each student so they can do their best. It’s a good chance for both experienced teachers and those who want to start working in this area.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver interesting lessons that support students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Create personal learning plans to match each student’s needs.
  • Maintain a peaceful and welcoming classroom where students feel safe.
  • Support students in staying on task and understanding their lessons.
  • Check and give helpful feedback on students' work.
  • Share any concerns with the right staff members.

What You Need:

  • A teaching qualification like QTS or something similar.
  • Good at managing a class and keeping students interested.
  • Able to talk clearly and stay organised.
  • Ready to teach different age groups and subjects.
  • Care about keeping students safe and happy.
  • A full CV that shows your last 10 years of work, with no unexplained gaps.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be ready to apply for one through GSL Education.
