Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Dorchester
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate/September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

As a Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher, you will teach students with special needs in a way that suits them. You will work with a team of kind and dedicated people to plan lessons that help every student learn. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference in a supportive school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach fun lessons that help students learn and do their best.
- Teach students one by one or in small groups, giving them the support they need to succeed.
- Check how students are doing and change your teaching if needed to help them reach their goals.
- Work with other teachers, helpers, and parents to support each student’s learning and well-being.
- Make a happy classroom where every student feels important and wants to join in.
- Use different ways to teach so students stay interested and learn in the best way for them.
- Keep simple records of how students are doing, like tests and notes, and share this with parents and others.
Requirements:
- You must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a similar qualification.
- Good communication skills to work well with students, parents, and other staff.
- Able to build strong, supportive relationships in the school.
- Be patient and enthusiastic, with a strong wish to help students learn and grow.
- Special education qualifications or training are a plus but not necessary.
- A current CV showing your work history for the last 10 years with no unexplained breaks.
- An enhanced DBS check on the update service, or you must be willing to apply for one.
