Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Winchester
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day/Long-Term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and driven SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to work in a well-regarded school based in Winchester. This opportunity is ideal for someone with previous experience in SEN support or a keen interest in developing their career within special educational needs provision.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who may have a range of additional needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Your support will help to break down barriers to learning and provide vital encouragement to help pupils thrive in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning plans.
- Support the classroom teacher in delivering engaging, accessible lessons.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation techniques.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents.
- Assist with personal care needs when required.
- Help maintain a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.
Job Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in a school, residential or care setting.
- A calm, empathetic and adaptable approach to working with students.
- Relevant qualification in education or support work (Level 2/3 TA desirable).
- Understanding of various SEN conditions including ASD, ADHD and SEMH.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong awareness of safeguarding and behaviour management policies.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
