SEN School Care Worker Role – Support Children with Special Educational Needs!

Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full time/Permanent

GSL Education are looking for a kind and patient SEN School Care Worker to join a welcoming school in Portland. This job is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children who have special needs and wants to help them feel safe and happy at school. You will support their care needs and help the school run smoothly.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Helping children with daily care and personal needs.
  • Supporting children during lessons, breaks, and activities.
  • Working with teachers and staff to keep the school safe and calm.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and kindness among pupils.
  • Talking with parents, carers, and staff to support the children well.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is caring, patient, and understanding.
  • Can follow instructions and work well in a team.
  • Is dependable and calm in different situations.
  • Has an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service, or is happy to apply for one through GSL Education.
