Be a Special Needs Care Worker – Help Children Grow and Learn!

Job Title: Special Needs Care Worker
Location: Dorchester
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

GSL Education are looking for a Special Needs Care Worker to join a vibrant school in Dorchester. In this role, you will help children with special needs by giving them the support they need during their school day. You will work with teachers and other staff to make sure every child can learn and enjoy their time at school. If you like working with children and want to help them grow and succeed, this is a wonderful opportunity for you!

What You Will Do:

  • Help children with personal care like feeding, moving, and washing.
  • Support children in class and help them join activities with friends.
  • Be kind and patient, and give children emotional support.
  • Work with teachers and staff to follow care plans.
  • Watch how children are doing and tell staff if you have any worries.
  • Follow all safety rules to keep children safe.
  • Keep notes on the care you give.

What You Need:

  • Some experience caring for children or young people is good but not required.
  • Be patient, kind, and understanding.
  • Good communication to work with children, teachers, and parents.
  • Know about keeping children safe.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or be happy to apply for one).
