Location: Christchurch
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025 / Immediate

GSL Education invites applications for the position of SEN Teacher at a warm and welcoming specialist school in Christchurch, where staff are committed to nurturing every child’s potential.

As a Special Needs (SEN) Teacher, you will provide bespoke learning experiences for pupils with a wide range of special educational needs, including autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties. You will be responsible for developing and delivering targeted, engaging lessons within a safe and structured setting.

Responsibilities of a SEN Teacher:

  • Plan and implement creative, inclusive, and personalised lessons based on individual EHCPs.
  • Foster a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports emotional and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with the wider team including SENCOs, teaching assistants, and external professionals.
  • Promote students’ independence, social skills, and confidence through tailored support.
  • Use assessment tools to track progress, adapt approaches, and provide regular feedback.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively using positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Contribute to the review and development of teaching strategies and intervention plans.

What we need from a SEN Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Experience in a SEN or alternative provision setting as a SEN Teacher is highly desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of SEND best practices and the national curriculum.
  • Compassionate, resilient, and adaptable teaching style.
