SEN Teacher
Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025 / Immediate
Contract Type: Permanent / Full-time

GSL Education are seeking an experienced and nurturing SEN Teacher to join a dedicated and caring specialist setting in Bournemouth, where every child is given the tools to thrive.
About the Role:
As a SEN Teacher, you will deliver tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, social and emotional difficulties, and moderate learning difficulties. Working as part of a supportive team, you will ensure all learners have the best possible access to education and personal development.
What you have to do as a SEN Teacher:
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to each student's EHCP and ability level.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and progress.
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, support staff, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent and holistic support.
- Monitor, assess and report on individual progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary.
- Manage behaviour positively, using de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies.
- Support students in building confidence, independence, and social skills alongside academic development.
- Contribute to annual reviews and ensure EHCP targets are addressed effectively.
SEN Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential.
- Experience teaching students with SEN in a specialist or mainstream setting.
- In-depth understanding of SEND codes of practice and effective teaching strategies.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach to teaching.
