GSL Education are seeking dedicated and reliable Primary Teaching Assistants to support pupils and teachers in schools throughout Doncaster. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with children, assisting with their educational progress and overall well-being.
About the Role:
As a Primary Teaching Assistant (Primary TA), you will support classroom teachers by helping pupils engage with lessons, assisting with learning activities, and providing one-to-one or small group support where needed. Your role is crucial in creating a positive learning environment that fosters confidence and success for all pupils.
Primary TA Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with their learning and classroom tasks under the guidance of the teacher.
- Assist with behaviour management to ensure a positive and safe classroom atmosphere.
- Work one-to-one or with small groups to help pupils meet their individual learning targets.
- Prepare and organise learning resources and classroom materials.
- Support children with varying needs, adapting approaches as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
What we need from a Primary Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working in a primary school environment as a Primary Teaching Assistant is essential.
- CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare.
- A degree in Education, Psychology or a similar field.
- Ability to support children across a range of abilities and learning needs.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
