Secondary Teaching Assistant – Sheffield
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Salary: £85 – £100 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time

Are you passionate about education and eager to support young people in a secondary school setting? GSL Education is currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to students’ academic progress and personal development at Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support, helping students stay focused and achieve their targets.

Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging, well-structured lessons.

Support students with special educational needs (SEN), behavioural needs, or other additional learning requirements.

Help create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.

Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and engagement in learning activities.

Supervise students during non-lesson times, including breaks and school events.
Requirements:
-
Experience supporting young people in a secondary school or similar educational setting.

A good understanding of SEN, Autism, ADHD, and behaviour management strategies is highly desirable.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, resilient, and proactive attitude to supporting student learning.

Ability to work both collaboratively with staff and independently with students.

An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
