Job Title: Cover Supervisor (CS)
Location: West Bergholt
Salary Range: £90 - £140 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: September 2025
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Are you an enthusiastic individual with a passion for education and the confidence to lead a classroom? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor (CS) to work in a welcoming primary school in West Bergholt, starting in September 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, and experienced school staff to gain hands-on classroom experience while contributing to the development of young learners.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged, motivated, and on task. You’ll play a key role in maintaining consistency in learning and fostering a positive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering set lesson plans across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school expectations.
- Providing feedback to teaching staff regarding student participation and behaviour.
- Creating a calm, supportive, and productive learning atmosphere.
- Supporting pupils to stay focused and complete tasks effectively.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive and flexible approach to classroom management.
- Degree-level education or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
- A genuine passion for working with young learners and helping them succeed.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
