Job Title: Cover Supervisor (CS)
Location: Sawbridgeworth
Salary Range: £90 - £140 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: September 2025
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Are you ready to step into the classroom and support young learners across a range of primary year groups? If so,GSL Education are currently recruiting for a Primary Cover Supervisor (CS) to work in a well-regarded school located in Sawbridgeworth. This role is starting in September 2025, ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about education and confident in their ability to manage and motivate pupils in a classroom setting.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will step into classes to supervise learning during teacher absences, ensuring continuity and a calm, engaging environment. You won’t be expected to plan lessons, but you will be delivering materials set by the regular teacher and keeping pupils on track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-set lessons across a variety of primary subjects.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support pupils to stay engaged and complete learning tasks.
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment.
Job Requirements:
- Prior experience working in a primary school setting is highly desirable.
- Confident classroom management and strong communication skills.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching and supervision.
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning.
- A relevant degree or equivalent experience is advantageous.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
