Full-Time Art & Design Technology Teacher – Secondary School in Southampton, Hampshire (SO14)
GSL Education are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a passionate and creative Art & Design Technology Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school in Southampton, Hampshire (SO14). This full-time position is set to begin in September 2025, with the potential for a permanent or fixed-term contract following a successful probation period. The school welcomes applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators. The annual salary for this role ranges from £30,000 to £50,000, depending on experience.
Responsibilities of an Art & Design Technology Teacher:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons in Art and Design Technology that foster creativity and innovation.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that encourage artistic expression and practical design skills.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student confidence and participation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to a vibrant and supportive school culture.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events related to Art and Design Technology.
- Promote the importance of creativity, critical thinking, and craftsmanship in students’ academic and personal growth.
- Stay current with curriculum developments and best practices in Art and Design Technology education.
Required Qualifications for an Art & Design Technology Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A strong passion for Art and Design Technology.
- Experience teaching Art and/or Design Technology at the secondary level (ECTs are encouraged to apply).
- Ability to deliver engaging and innovative lessons that inspire students.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- A commitment to fostering student creativity, well-being, and achievement.
- A collaborative and proactive approach to working with colleagues.
- An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
