Job Title: QTS Teacher
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000 - £46535 per annum (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate or September 2025
Contract: Full-time

Are you a dedicated, enthusiastic teacher with QTS looking to make a positive impact in a primary classroom?

GSL Education are welcoming applications for a full-time QTS Teacher to join a welcoming and well-resourced mainstream primary school in Portsmouth. This is a full-time role and open to candidates whether you’re an experienced practitioner, an ECT seeking your first opportunity, or an overseas-trained teacher holding UK-recognised qualifications.

Role Overview:

This is a full-time classroom teaching position within a supportive mainstream primary school, starting either immediately or from September 2025. The successful candidate will plan and deliver high-quality lessons, promote positive pupil outcomes, and contribute to the wider life of the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in accordance with the primary curriculum.
  • Create a supportive and stimulating classroom environment that fosters learning and development.
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, tailoring support as needed.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Engage with staff, parents, and carers to support pupil achievement.
  • Contribute to whole-school activities, development, and improvement.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ECTs and qualified overseas teachers are encouraged to apply.
  • Prior experience working within a UK primary school setting is advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge of the national curriculum across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
  • A commitment to raising standards and improving pupil progress.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with staff and families.
  • Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
