Job Title: SEN Support
Location: Poole
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
If so, GSL Education are currently looking for a dedicated and caring Special Education Needs Support to work in schools across Poole.
This role offers an opportunity to provide one-to-one or small group support to students with additional learning needs, helping them build confidence, develop life skills, and thrive in the classroom. As a SEN Support, you will be supporting students with a range of needs, including autism, learning difficulties, or speech and language delays. Your role will be crucial in helping pupils feel included, engaged, and supported in their learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide in-class and one-to-one support for students with SEN.
- Assist with developing learning resources tailored to student needs.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours where required.
- Track and report on student progress and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies.
- Encourage independence and support the development of life skills.
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in an educational setting is desirable.
- A degree in Psychology, Counselling, Education or a similar field.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ in Childcare or Education, or equivalent (desirable).
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
