Cover SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Colchester
Salary: £90- £130 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

As a Cover SEN TA, you will step into various classrooms to provide vital support wherever needed. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, adapts easily to new settings, and is passionate about inclusive education.

Responsibilities:

  • Support children with SEN across EYFS, KS1, or KS2 as needed on a daily or weekly basis.
  • Assist with learning activities, adapting tasks to individual pupil needs.
  • Help manage behaviour positively using clear, consistent strategies.
  • Build rapport quickly with students and staff to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and SENCOs to maintain consistency in support and care.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (e.g., Autism, ADHD, SEMH).
  • A flexible, proactive, and positive approach to working in different classes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
