Salary: £220 - £320 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education is currently recruiting for a dynamic and ambitious Head of Business Studies and Economics to join a high-performing secondary academy in Enfield. What the Role Will Involve:

  • Leading the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the Business Studies and Economics curriculum across Key Stages 4 and 5.

  • Managing a team of subject teachers, providing professional development and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.

  • Setting ambitious targets for student achievement and ensuring effective intervention strategies are in place to support progress.

  • Overseeing the use of assessment data to track student progress and inform planning and teaching practices.

  • Promoting student engagement by designing innovative, real-world learning experiences that connect theory with practice.

  • Collaborating with school leadership and external partners to enhance curriculum enrichment opportunities.

  • Ensuring departmental compliance with school policies and statutory guidelines.

  • Contributing to whole-school initiatives, raising the profile of Business and Economics within the wider curriculum.

 

Head of Business Studies and Economics Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Business, Economics, or a related field.

  • Proven experience of teaching Business and/or Economics at KS4 and KS5 with excellent student outcomes.

  • A track record of effective departmental leadership or the clear potential to step into such a role.

  • Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with relevant qualifications (GCSE, A-Level, BTEC).

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for business education and the ability to inspire students from diverse backgrounds.

  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

  • Proof of right to work in the UK and two references for safeguarding checks.
