Job Title: Substitute Teacher
Location: Chichester, West Sussex
Pay: £94 - £140 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025/ Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time

GSL Education are working with a secondary school in Chichester that is looking for a Substitute Teacher. This is a great opportunity to work in a lively and supportive school, covering lessons when the regular teacher is away. You’ll be helping students stay on track with their learning and making a real difference in the classroom.
This role is ideal for experienced teachers who want a better work-life balance, or for anyone interested in gaining more experience in schools.
What You’ll Be Doing as a Substitute Teacher:
- Teach lessons using plans provided by the school
- Keep students focused and manage behaviour in the classroom
- Support students with their learning and answer questions
- Mark work and give helpful feedback
- Let school staff know about any issues or concerns
What You’ll Need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a similar teaching qualification
- Good classroom management skills
- Clear and confident communication
- Ability to teach different subjects and age groups
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
