Role overview
You will be responsible for delivering engaging Computer Science lessons that develop students' understanding of key computing principles, from algorithms to cybersecurity. Whether introducing beginners to Python or guiding advanced learners through software development, your role is to equip learners with the confidence and skills to succeed in the digital age.
Role Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver creative and interactive Computer Science lessons.
- Cover areas such as computational thinking, programming, databases, networks, and digital ethics.
- Use a range of software and tools to enhance teaching and learning.
- Monitor student progress and provide personalised support.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel confident exploring technology.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in computing and apply them in the classroom.
- Uphold the school's policies on safeguarding and student welfare.
Job Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or an equivalent teaching qualification in the UK.
- A degree in Computer Science, ICT, or a closely related field.
- Proven teaching experience in Computer Science or ICT, preferably within a school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge of modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scratch).
- Effective classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering a lifelong interest in technology among students.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
