Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant – Corridors
Location: Sheffield, S9
Salary Range: £95 - £110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Full-time
Can you help create calm, structured transitions and keep corridors clear and positive?
GSL Education are on the lookout for a confident Behaviour Support Assistant to join a vibrant school in Sheffield. This unique corridor-based role focuses on maintaining order and ensuring smooth student transitions between lessons. You will be an integral part of the behaviour support team, helping to create a safe and positive school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise student movement between lessons across corridors and communal areas.
- Intervene and de-escalate low-level disruptions in a calm and assertive manner.
- Support students with emotional regulation and promote respectful behaviour.
- Report incidents and provide feedback to the Behaviour Lead and SLT.
- Promote school rules and expectations to foster a consistent learning environment.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with students and staff.
Requirements:
- Experience working with young people, especially in behaviour support or pastoral roles.
- Calm, confident, and able to defuse challenging situations effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and follow safeguarding protocols.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
