A dynamic and forward-thinking secondary school in Enfield is seeking to appoint a Head of Science to lead its thriving science faculty from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent leadership opportunity for a visionary educator with a deep passion for science and a proven track record of raising standards.

The Role:
As Head of Science, you will take strategic and operational responsibility for leading a dedicated team of science educators. You’ll be expected to cultivate a strong culture of high achievement, innovation in teaching and learning, and a love of science across Key Stages 3 to 5.
You’ll be instrumental in:

Setting clear academic goals and leading the development of a robust, engaging, and progressive science curriculum.

Coaching, mentoring, and inspiring teachers within the department to deliver outstanding learning experiences.

Using data effectively to monitor student progress, set targets, and drive continuous improvement.

Fostering an inclusive, high-expectation classroom culture where all students—regardless of background—can excel in the sciences.

Collaborating with school leadership to contribute to whole-school initiatives, curriculum planning, and staff development.
What We’re Looking For:

A qualified Science teacher with significant teaching experience and leadership exposure.

A strong understanding of curriculum design and assessment strategies within science education.

Proven ability to lead and motivate a team with clarity, compassion, and ambition.

Deep knowledge of effective pedagogical practices, especially within STEM subjects.

High expectations for student achievement, behaviour, and engagement.

Excellent organisational and communication skills.
