About the Role:
As an Academic Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pupils to foster a productive and supportive learning environment. This is a hands-on role offering experience in classroom-based support, small group work, and individual pupil assistance, making it a perfect step for aspiring educators.
Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons.
- Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive engagement.
- Prepare learning materials and assist in classroom organisation.
- Provide encouragement and emotional support to ensure pupil well-being.
Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Previous experience working with children in an educational, tutoring, or support capacity is desirable.
- A strong academic background and a passion for helping children succeed.
- Ability to engage and motivate young learners in an educational setting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Recent graduates and those seeking school-based experience before pursuing teacher training are strongly encouraged to apply
- A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting learning in a dynamic school environment.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
