Job Title: Primary Teaching Support

Salary: £12.82 per hour

GSL Education are recruiting for a Primary Teaching Support to join a vibrant and supportive mainstream primary school in Poole, Dorset. This is a fantastic full-time opportunity for individuals passionate about working with children, including university students looking to build experience in the education sector.
About the Role:
As a Primary Teaching Support, you will provide essential support to classroom teachers, help deliver engaging lessons, and play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning and development. You’ll be working in a dynamic and nurturing environment, making a genuine difference to children’s education daily.
Responsibilities:
- Support the teacher in preparing and delivering classroom activities.
- Provide one-to-one or small group assistance to pupils who may need additional support.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive social interactions.
- Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom displays.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Support pupils with special educational needs where required.
Requirements:
- A strong understanding of primary education and child development.
- University students studying education, psychology, child development, or a related field are encouraged to apply.
- Experience working with children in a school or alternative setting is desirable.
- A strong interest in child development and education.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
