GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design & Technology (DT) Teacher – Food Technology (FT) Specialist to join a vibrant school in Braintree. This maternity cover role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in students’ lives through engaging and practical teaching.
Your Mission
As a Design & Technology (DT) Teacher – Food Technology (FT) Specialist, you’ll transform the classroom into a dynamic learning environment where students explore the science of nutrition, the art of cooking, and the importance of healthy living. Your lessons will empower students with skills they’ll carry for life.
What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across Key Stages.
- Plan and implement creative schemes of work aligned with the national curriculum.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Design & Technology department.
- Promote sustainability, creativity, and healthy eating habits.
What You Bring
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Food Technology in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and health & safety standards.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A passion for teaching and inspiring young minds.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
