Job Title: School Care Worker

Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are inviting applications for a School Care Worker to join a welcoming school in Weymouth. This is a wonderful chance to work with children who have special educational needs, providing care and support tailored to each child’s unique requirements. You will be part of a caring team dedicated to helping every student thrive both socially and academically. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and group care support to pupils during the school day.
- Assist with personal care tasks such as feeding, toileting, and hygiene needs.
- Promote engagement and interaction during classroom and therapy activities.
- Implement behaviour and communication strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of support provided and report any safeguarding concerns.
Job Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young adults with SEND, particularly those with physical, sensory, or behavioural needs is desirable.
- Confidence in assisting with personal care and manual handling (training can be provided).
- An understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
- Compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
