Job Title: Learning Support Assistant – Secondary
Location: Chelmsford

Salary Range: £85 - £130 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: September 2025

GSL Education are recruiting a caring Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a thriving, welcoming school in Chelmsford. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about education, eager to provide tailored support to students with diverse needs and help them thrive in a secondary classroom setting.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support students in a range of subjects in the secondary level.
  • Assist pupils with special educational needs (SEN), including those with EHCPs.
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to deliver targeted interventions.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Liaise with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure student progress.
  • Contribute to the planning and evaluation of individual support programmes.

Candidate Expectations:

  • Previous experience working with children (in school, youth work or support roles).
  • A genuine interest in education and a desire to make a difference.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning needs and classroom environments.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
