Your Role as a History Teacher:
- Design Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver creative and thought-provoking history lessons tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Inspire Historical Curiosity: Encourage learners to explore historical events, themes, and perspectives with enthusiasm and critical insight.
- Lead Enrichment Activities: Support or lead extracurricular initiatives such as history clubs, themed events, or educational trips.
- Track and Support Progress: Monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to support individual development.
- Foster an Inclusive Environment: Build a classroom culture where all learners feel respected, included, and empowered to participate.
- Promote Safe Learning: Ensure a safe, supportive, and well-managed learning environment in line with safeguarding standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified and Experienced: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven Track Record: A ten-year career history with references covering the last two years, including your most recent academic role.
- Passionate Historian: Demonstrated experience teaching history in an educational setting.
- Excellent Communicator: Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with learners, colleagues, and parents.
- Inspirational Educator: Ability to motivate and inspire a lasting appreciation for history.
- Creative Thinker: A flair for storytelling and innovative teaching approaches.
- Desirable Qualifications: Additional training or qualifications in history education are a plus.
