Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)
Start: September 2025

About The Role:
This is a rewarding role supporting children and young people with special educational needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Speech and Language Communication Needs (SLCN). You will teach small class groups, creating a personalised curriculum that allows every pupil to thrive both academically and personally.
Responsibilities of SEN Teacher:
- Deliver differentiated lessons aligned with EHCP objectives and individual learning needs.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
- Collaborate closely with support staff, families, and multi-disciplinary professionals.
- Use a range of strategies to manage behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Contribute to a whole-school approach that celebrates diversity and promotes wellbeing.
- Monitor, assess, and record pupils’ progress, adapting learning plans as needed.
The successful candidate will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a focus on SEN (or willingness to undertake further training).
- Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs in a school or specialist setting.
- Experience working with pupils with a range of SEN needs, including ASD, SEMH and speech and language difficulties.
- A sound understanding of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and how to implement them effectively.
- Knowledge of SEN strategies, alternative communication methods and British educational curriculum is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, parents and external professionals.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
