Location: Lytchett Minster
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Permanent / Full-time

Are you an experienced or newly qualified teacher passionate about making a difference in the lives of pupils with special educational needs?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher for a well-resourced specialist school based in Lytchett Minster. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in September 2025, offering a fantastic opportunity to shape young lives in a meaningful and impactful way.

The successful SEN Teacher will lead a class of students with a variety of complex needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs. The role requires adaptability, patience, and a passion for inclusive education, working with a team of committed professionals to support each child’s academic and personal development.

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to each pupil’s individual learning needs
  • Create a structured, supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Use assessment and monitoring tools to track progress and plan interventions
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, therapists and families
  • Support pupils’ personal development and life skills alongside curriculum learning
  • Maintain strong communication with parents/carers and ensure safeguarding protocols are upheld

Qualifications for SEN Teacher:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN as a SEN Teacher
  • Understanding of various needs including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to support diverse learners
