SEN Teacher
Location: Boscombe
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Permanent / Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school community in Boscombe from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent position, ideal for a teacher who is committed to helping pupils with Special Educational Needs thrive in both academic and personal development.

As a SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and therapists to provide an engaging and nurturing classroom environment.

Special Educational Needs Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver lessons adapted to the needs and abilities of students with SEN
  • Use individual learning plans and EHCPs to guide teaching strategies and interventions
  • Create a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting to parents and external professionals
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and other support staff to ensure consistency of support
  • Promote emotional well-being, independence, and resilience among pupils
  • Maintain strong communication with families and multi-agency professionals

SEN Teacher Requirements:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching pupils with special educational needs
  • Thorough understanding of SEN teaching strategies and inclusive practice
  • Excellent behaviour management and interpersonal skills
  • A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
