GSL Education are happy to offer a great opportunity for an Early Years Practitioner (EYP) at a friendly school in Rotherham. We are looking for someone who cares about young children’s learning and development. The role includes working with young children through play, stories, and fun activities. It's a chance to help them learn new things in a safe and happy place.

Join our team and help support children as they grow, learn, and become confident and curious learners during their early years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that engage children and encourage them to reach their full potential.
  • Create a positive and stimulating learning environment, using your creativity and enthusiasm to inspire young learners.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children, parents and colleagues, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Monitor and assess children’s development, providing feedback and support to teachers and parents.
  • Encourage children’s social and emotional development, helping them to build confidence, resilience and positive relationships.
  • Support children with additional needs (e.g., special educational needs or English as an additional language) using tailored strategies to ensure their progress.
  • Assist in managing classroom activities and routines, ensuring a safe, organised and nurturing environment for all children.
  • Adhere to safeguarding procedures, always ensuring the safety and well-being of all children.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that teaching and learning strategies are effective and meet the individual needs of each child.

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in Early Years Education (such as a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in in Early Years is a must).
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and the ability to implement it effectively in daily activities.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
  • A strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Ability to organise activities and tasks efficiently while managing the needs of individual children.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps).
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
