Supply Teacher – Primary
Location: Halstead
Salary: £130 – £230 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Supply Teachers to support schools in Halstead from September 2025. Whether you're looking for short-term daily cover or longer-term placements, we have opportunities that offer flexibility, stability, and fulfilment.

As a Primary Supply Teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching to pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 depending on your expertise. You’ll provide continuity of learning in the absence of class teachers, using prepared plans and maintaining a positive classroom environment. This role suits ECTs and experienced teachers alike who are confident, adaptable, and committed to delivering strong outcomes.

Primary Supply Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners across the primary age range
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Follow and deliver prepared lesson plans
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Communicate clearly with pupils, staff, and parents as needed
  • Mark and assess pupils’ work, providing feedback when required

Requirements for Supply Teacher - Primary:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching in EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2 settings as a Primary Supply Teacher
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • A flexible and professional attitude
  • Passion for education and improving outcomes for pupils
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
