Job description

Are you passionate about giving every child the best possible start in life?

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive learning community. We are committed to supporting every child—regardless of background, ability, or interest—to reach their full potential both in and beyond the classroom. The successful candidate will be someone who can plan and deliver engaging, inspiring lessons, adapting teaching through effective use of Assessment for Learning (AfL).

Our school is a five-form entry community academy in Southampton, Hampshire. We pride ourselves on a culture built around mutual respect, kindness, warmth, and tolerance. These values are at the heart of everything we do, and we expect every member of our community—staff and pupils alike—to uphold them.

Our vision is to provide an inclusive, supportive, and challenging learning environment for everyone we serve. We are proud to be known as a true community school where growth, development, and a love of learning thrive. Our core values—Patience, Friendship, Respect, Determination, Pride, and Honesty—are central to our ethos and guide everything from our curriculum to our relationships with pupils and their families.

Visitors often comment on the warm welcome they receive and the confidence with which pupils engage. Children here are given genuine responsibility and purpose, whether it’s leading play at break time, helping to manage school spaces, supporting lunchtime service, or being part of the pupil leadership team. We believe that with opportunity comes growth, and we strive to empower our pupils at every stage of their journey.

As a team, we work collaboratively to plan lessons, share best practices, and reflect on our teaching to continually improve. We provide tailored professional development for all staff through individual coaching plans and encourage career progression. Many of our teachers have gone on to become year leaders, deputy heads, and headteachers.

This role is open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers who bring a particular strength or specialism to the team.

If you’re ready to be part of a school that supports its staff, values inclusivity, and puts children at the heart of everything it does, we’d love to hear from you.
