Job Title: Medical Officer

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time, Fixed Term
Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality medical care and first aid as the school’s lead Medical Officer, responding promptly to any incidents or health concerns.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of medical incidents, treatments, and student healthcare plans.

  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and external health professionals to ensure effective medical support is in place for students with chronic conditions or complex needs.

  • Manage medical supplies and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Provide guidance and training to staff on medical procedures, first aid, and best practices in student healthcare.

  • Support the school’s attendance and safeguarding teams by contributing to care plans and promoting student wellbeing.

  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and compassion in your role as a Medical Officer.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Relevant healthcare qualification and experience working in a clinical, educational, or first aid setting.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies.

  • A genuine passion for promoting the health and safety of young people.

  • A flexible, team-oriented approach and the ability to work independently when required.

  • Excellent record-keeping and administrative skills.

  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
