Your Role as a History Teacher:
- Design Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver dynamic history lessons that captivate students and cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
- Inspire Historical Curiosity: Teach students aged 11–16, encouraging them to explore the past and connect it to the present.
- Lead Enrichment Activities: Organise and support extracurricular history clubs, trips, and themed events that deepen students’ historical understanding.
- Track and Support Progress: Monitor student achievement, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to support individual learning journeys.
- Foster an Inclusive Environment: Create a classroom culture where every student feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute.
- Promote Safe Learning: Uphold health and safety standards in all activities, ensuring a secure and supportive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified and Experienced: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Proven Track Record: A ten-year career history with references covering the last two years, including your most recent academic role.
- Passionate Historian: Experience teaching history at the school is essential.
- Excellent Communicator: Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Inspirational Educator: Ability to motivate students and instil a lasting appreciation for history.
- Creative Thinker: A commitment to innovative teaching and a love for storytelling through historical narratives.
- Desirable Qualifications: Additional training or qualifications in history education are a plus.
