Salary: M1 to UPS3 per annum (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join a school in Hull, starting in September 2025. This is a generic role suitable for teaching across various educational stages, without a specific primary or secondary phase designation.

Role overview

As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality physical education that encourages students to develop their fitness, teamwork, and sporting skills. You will plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities, promoting a lifelong commitment to health and physical activity.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver inspiring PE lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages participation and effort.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Promote health, wellbeing, and teamwork through physical education.
  • Support extra-curricular sports and physical activity programmes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the PE curriculum and school ethos.
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and contribute to a safe school environment.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • A relevant degree or qualification in Physical Education, Sport Science, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching PE across a range of ages and abilities is preferred.
  • Ability to plan differentiated lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Understanding of health and safety standards within physical education.
  • Commitment to promoting physical activity and student wellbeing.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
