Location: Hull
Salary: M1 to UPS3 per annum (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a welcoming and ambitious school in Hull from September 2025. This is a generic setting and not limited to primary or secondary — ideal for teachers confident in tailoring their delivery to a wide age range or to settings beyond traditional phase classifications.
Role Overview:
As an English Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in guiding students through key literacy skills and helping them to explore and appreciate the richness of English language and literature. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners, fostering both creativity and critical thinking in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons in line with curriculum standards.
- Plan lessons that are creative, inclusive, and tailored to students’ varying abilities.
- Assess, track, and report on student progress regularly.
- Use effective behaviour management strategies to ensure a productive learning environment.
- Encourage a positive attitude towards English and promote a love of reading and writing.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and share best ideas.
- Contribute to whole-school activities, enrichment, and literacy initiatives.
Job Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree in English or a closely related field, with strong subject knowledge.
- Experience teaching English across all Key Stages 3 and 4 is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver inclusive, differentiated lessons that engage and support all learners.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and child protection procedures.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to use data to inform teaching and provide targeted support where needed
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
