Job Title: Midday Learning Support Assistant
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £96 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
GSL Education are currently seeking a reliable and nurturing Midday Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming school in Chesterfield. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and child supervision, particularly those who are confident drivers.
As a Midday Learning Support Assistant, your key role will be to support pupils during unstructured parts of the day, including lunch and transitions. Working 1:1 or in small groups, you’ll ensure pupils are safe, engaged, and emotionally supported throughout the school day.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Supervise and support pupils during lunchtime and other unstructured times.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage social inclusion.
- Assist with transitions between lunch and learning sessions.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and SENCo to provide consistent, tailored support.
- Support pupils with personal care needs where appropriate.
- Ensure pupil safety and well-being, adhering to safeguarding procedures at all times.
Requirements of the role:
- Must be a driver with access to transport.
- Experience supporting children with SEMH or in a similar support role.
- A calm, empathetic, and resilient nature.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management practices.
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years with any gaps explained.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
