Primary Teaching Assistant
Location: High Peak
Salary: £96 - £100 Per Day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant (Primary TA) to join vibrant and supportive primary schools in High Peak. This role is ideal for individuals who can engage pupils positively and help create a safe, inclusive, and productive learning atmosphere.
As a Primary Teaching Assistant (Primary TA), your responsibilities will be:
- Support individual students and small groups with learning activities and emotional regulation
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a calm and focused learning environment
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to deliver targeted interventions
- Provide pastoral support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them build confidence and self-esteem
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to pupil reports and reviews
- Supervise pupils during break times and transitions, ensuring safety and engagement
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and safeguarding at all times
Primary TA Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a primary school setting as a Primary Teaching Assistant is essential
- Understanding of SEMH and behaviour support strategies
- Strong communication, patience, and empathy
- Must be a driver with business insurance
- Relevant qualification in education or child support is desirable but not mandatory
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
