Learning Support Assistant – Primary
Location: Sudbury
Salary: £85 - £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and caring Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA Primary) to support pupils in a welcoming school setting in Sudbury, starting in September 2025.
About the Role:
As a Primary Learning Support Assistant (Primary LSA), you will play a crucial role in helping teachers deliver lessons that are inclusive, engaging, and tailored to pupils' individual needs. You will provide vital support both in and out of the classroom, ensuring pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Whether you’re experienced or seeking to build your career in education, this role offers a fulfilling opportunity to support children’s learning and wellbeing across Early Years, Key Stage 1, or Key Stage 2.
Primary LSA Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering creative and structured lessons across core subjects.
- Work 1:1 or with small groups of pupils to reinforce learning and boost confidence.
- Assist with classroom activities, preparation of resources, and general organisation.
- Adapt tasks to suit individual learning styles and educational needs.
- Monitor pupil progress and behaviour, reporting concerns when necessary.
- Provide emotional and pastoral support, encouraging positive relationships and attitudes.
- Support school events, educational trips, and playground duties.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment for all learners.
Primary Learning Support Assistant Requirements:
- A genuine interest in working with children and contributing to their development.
- Prior experience in a school or educational setting as a Learning Support Assistant – Primary is highly desirable.
- A relevant qualification such as CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent is advantageous.
- Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to support across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 if needed.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
