Learning Support Assistant – Primary
Location: Brightlingsea
Salary: £85 - £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Learning Support Assistant (Primary LSA) to work in schools in Brightlingsea from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to support children’s development and help them succeed academically and socially.
About the Role:
As a Primary Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to support pupils’ learning and well-being. Your role will be essential in helping children engage with the curriculum and reach their full potential in a positive and inclusive environment.
Learning Support Assistant – Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Provide targeted support to pupils, either one-to-one or in small groups.
- Prepare and organise classroom resources and materials.
- Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development.
- Observe and report on pupils’ progress and needs to the teaching team.
- Support children during classroom activities and at break times.
- Help maintain a safe and welcoming learning environment for all pupils.
What we need from an LSA Primary:
- Previous experience working in a school setting as a Learning Support Assistant – Primary is desirable.
- CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent in Teaching Assistant or Childcare are beneficial.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine interest in supporting children’s learning.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
