Learning Support Assistant – Primary
Location: Halstead
Salary: £85 - £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are looking for a motivated and caring Primary Learning Support Assistant to join schools in Halstead from September 2025. This role is perfect for individuals eager to support children’s educational journeys, helping them build confidence and achieve their potential in EYFS, KS1, or KS2.

As a Primary Learning Support Assistant (Primary LSA), you will work closely with classroom teachers to support the learning and development of pupils. Your role will be vital in creating an inclusive and supportive environment, ensuring each child receives the attention and guidance they need.

LSA Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist teaching staff with the delivery of engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Provide targeted support to pupils individually or in small groups.
  • Help prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development within the classroom.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and foster a productive learning atmosphere.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing observations with the teaching team.
  • Support children during break times and school activities as required.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning space.

Requirements for Primary Learning Support Assistant:

  • Experience working in a school environment as a Learning Support Assistant – Primary is preferred.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or childcare are desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Commitment to supporting children’s learning and well-being.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
