Learning Support Assistant - Primary
Location: Manningtree
Salary: £85 - £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Primary Learning Support Assistant (Primary LSA) to join schools in Manningtree starting in September 2025.
Whether you are experienced or just beginning your journey in education, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the academic and personal development of pupils in Early Years, KS1, or KS2. You'll be part of a supportive and inclusive environment that values teamwork and positive learning experiences.
As a Learning Support Assistant – Primary, your responsibilities will be:
- Assist class teachers in creating a vibrant, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work one-to-one or in small groups to help pupils access the curriculum effectively.
- Support learning activities in key subjects such as Phonics, Reading, Writing, and Numeracy.
- Modify lesson resources and approaches to meet varying pupil needs and abilities.
- Provide pastoral support, encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Help maintain classroom organisation, prepare learning materials, and create engaging displays.
- Observe and track student progress, contributing to planning and review sessions.
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff to deliver tailored interventions.
- Supervise children during breaktimes, lunchtimes, and on educational outings to ensure safety and engagement.
Requirements for LSA Primary:
- A genuine interest in education and child development.
- Previous experience working in a primary school setting as a Learning Support Assistant - Primary is desirable.
- CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) is advantageous.
- Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate children of different abilities.
- Flexibility to work across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 if required.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
