Full-Time Drama Teacher – Gosport, Hampshire

Can you set the stage for students to shine?

A creative and inclusive secondary school in Gosport is seeking a passionate Drama Teacher to join their team full-time starting in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students through the power of performance, creativity, and self-expression. Pay ranges from £30,000 to £50,000 per year, depending on experience. Early Careers Teachers and experienced professionals are welcome to apply! Candidates who are shortlisted will first be invited for a school tour—giving you a chance to get a real feel for the environment before progressing to the formal interview stage. Interviews will be held over the coming weeks.

Responsibilities of the Drama Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Inspire confidence, collaboration, and creativity in students.
  • Lead rehearsals and school performances, showcasing student talent.
  • Develop schemes of work that meet curriculum standards and ignite passion for the arts.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support school-wide arts initiatives and extracurricular opportunities.

Requirements of the Drama Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for the performing arts.
  • Ability to foster a supportive and energetic classroom environment.
  • Confident in directing, stagecraft, and performance coaching.
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
