Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Westcliff-on-Sea
Pay Rate: £90 to £130 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025

About the Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You’ll work closely with teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons, lead small group and whole-class activities, and provide targeted interventions to help students thrive. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership-support role and make a lasting impact every day.
Key Responsibilities of Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
- Support teachers in planning and delivering high-quality lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Lead small group and whole-class teaching sessions under the guidance of teaching staff.
- Deliver targeted interventions to support academic progress and personal development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to reports.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to support students with additional needs.
- Uphold high standards of behaviour and promote a culture of respect and achievement.
Requirements of Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
- Previous experience as a primary HLTA or Teaching Assistant with relevant qualifications.
- HLTA status or equivalent training is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A genuine passion for education and student development.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
