Job Title: SEN Learning Support
Location: Romsey
Salary Range: £13.68 - £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking an empathetic and skilled SEN Learning Support professional to join a well-resourced specialist SEN school in Romsey. The school caters for pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language difficulties, sensory processing disorders, and associated behavioural needs. The role involves providing bespoke, hands-on support to children to ensure they thrive academically, emotionally, and socially in a structured and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistent 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs.
- Assist with tailored lesson delivery, resource adaptation, and behaviour regulation strategies.
- Work closely with class teachers, therapists, and SENCOs to promote student development.
- Encourage independent learning and personal growth in each pupil.
- Support with daily routines, personal care (if required), and transitions.
- Observe, track, and report on pupil progress in line with individual goals.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all students at all times.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ideally in a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of a variety of learning difficulties, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech/language needs
- Calm, patient and empathetic approach to working with children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or support work is advantageous
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
