Job Title: SEN Learning Support
Location: Eastleigh
Salary Range: £13.68 - £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are recruiting for a committed and compassionate SEN Learning Support professional to join a specialist education setting in Eastleigh. The role involves providing tailored support to pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and complex learning difficulties. You will work closely with teaching staff and therapists to help deliver individualised learning plans and foster a positive, inclusive environment for all pupils.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
  • Promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem, and positive behaviour.
  • Support classroom activities and adapt resources to meet learners’ needs.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to reviews and reports.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to ensure cohesive support.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for all learners.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, preferably in a school or care setting.
  • Understanding of various special educational needs, particularly Autism, sensory processing issues, and SEMH.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when managing challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
