Teacher of Food Technology
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum
Contract Type: Part Time, Permanent, (up to 0.4 FTE)
GSL Education are seeking to appoint a dedicated and knowledgeable Food Technology Teacher to work at a Secondary School located in York, North Yorkshire in September 2025.
Food Technology Teacher Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, imaginative lessons in Food Technology, aligned with curriculum standards.
- Inspire students with practical, hands-on experiences and a focus on nutrition, health, and food preparation skills.
- Contribute to curriculum development, schemes of work, and assessment practices within the department.
- Assessing and providing constructive feedback to students to aid their progress and achievement.
- Maintain a safe, hygienic, and stimulating learning environment in the food technology space.
Food Technology Teacher Requirements:
- A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
- A specialism in Food Technology, or a closely related subject.
- Passionate about teaching Food Technology along with a strong command of the subject
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for promoting health, nutrition, and food preparation.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
