A 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant is Needed in Lincoln – Start After May 2025 Half Term!

Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Lincoln
Salary: £88.94 - £104.84 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: After May 2025 Half Term
Contract Type: Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a patient, caring, and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Lincoln. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and is looking to provide one-on-one support that truly makes a difference.

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a specific student to provide personalised support, help them engage with their learning, and encourage their emotional and social development. Your presence will be key in helping them feel understood, confident, and included in the classroom.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Providing one-on-one support for a student with SEN needs within the classroom.
  • Assisting with understanding class instructions and supporting engagement in tasks.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping the student with emotional regulation.
  • Promoting independence while offering guidance when needed.
  • Adapting learning materials to suit the student’s individual needs and abilities.
  • Monitoring the student’s progress and sharing feedback with the teacher and support team.
  • Building a trusting relationship with the student to create a safe and productive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working in a one-to-one support role, ideally within a school or SEN setting.
  • A background in Psychology, Education, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance are preferred.
  • A calm, patient, and supportive approach to working with children.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • An understanding of how to meet the needs of students with varying learning styles and challenges.

  • Possess an enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
