Job Title: SEN Support Assistant
Location: Scunthorpe
Salary: £88.94 - £104.84 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: After May 2025 half term
Contract Type: Full-time
GSL Education are looking for a caring and committed SEN (Special Educational Needs) Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in Scunthorpe. This is a wonderful chance to help shape the future of students with SEN by giving them the support they need to succeed.
In this role, you’ll work alongside teachers to offer personalised help, adapt learning materials, and create an inclusive classroom where every student feels safe and supported. You’ll play a key part in building confidence, encouraging independence, and supporting both the learning and well-being of the students.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Work closely with teaching staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Offer tailored support to students with SEN, helping them engage in lessons and reach their goals.
- Provide one-to-one or small group assistance to help meet specific learning needs.
- Support students in developing social skills and managing emotions in a positive way.
- Help prepare resources and keep the classroom organised and ready for learning.
- Adapt materials and instructions to suit different learning styles and needs.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Experience working in a school as a SEN Support Assistant or in a similar role.
- A genuine passion for helping students learn and achieve their full potential.
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude in the classroom.
- Flexibility and patience to support a variety of student needs.
- A full CV covering the last 10 years (with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS on the update service – or willingness to apply for one.
